James Hardt represents, primarily, automotive dealerships and their principals in all phases of the retail automotive business. Drawing upon his years of work in the sales and marketing divisions of Ford Motor Company, prior to going into law, Jim has a valuable understanding of the retail automotive business and is able to provide a unique perspective and appreciation for the business interests of his clients. He is an experienced attorney and counselor with a wealth of personal knowledge in representing clients in acquisitions and divestitures, real estate transactions, leasing, shareholder agreements, business planning, succession planning and dealer/manufacturer relationships including consolidations, relocations, add points and franchise terminations. In addition to serving his clients, Jim has worked with the Illinois State Dealer Association in drafting amendments to the Illinois Motor Vehicle Franchise Act, served as a panel member on J.D. Power automotive industry seminars and is counsel to a dealer advertising association.
